Andrea Maffei – architect – was born in Modena in the 1968. He graduated in Architecture by the Florece University in the 1994 “cum laude”, and after the first few experiences in the Italian scene, he moved to Tokyo in order to collaborate with the Arata Isozaki studio until 2004. He signed important projects such as the villa Al Wabrah, owned by the sheikh Al-Thani di Doha, (Qatar), the project of the expansion for the museum of history of Qatar, and the winner project for the architectural competition involving the new Exit of the Uffizi Museum in Florence, Italy.
On the occasion of the Winter Olympics 2016 in Italy, Turin area, he directed the design of the palahockey (now known as Pala Alpitour) in Turin. He won several Italian competitions including that of the new Bologna station (2008).
In 2005 he opened his own architectural firm Andrea Maffei Architects in the heart of Milan, in the beautiful Brera district. Milan is holding his name too with the skyscraper Allianz, designed together with his mentor Isozaki. The building is part of the area City Life and it’s know as “ the dritto” – the rectum, symbol nowadays of the new Milan skyline.
Since 2016 Maffei is busy with the project of the new airport in Tabriz (Iran) and among much more, he collaborate with us, Colombo Design with Ama, the door handle which cannot go unnoticed. Colombo Design has a long history of design handles, with shapes and forms and now with Ama, with its three-sided body.

Colombo Design and Cesana continue on their development path by strengthening the strategic
partnership that already links the two companies from 2014 for the production and marketing of
shower boxes in Italy and on all the main foreign markets. Colombo Design has acquired a
corporate participation of Cesana srl, supporting the founding partners in the management of the
company and giving modern production and logistics help, one of the most modern and efficient in
the sector at a European level. Important news that will follow in the coming months. The
production of the shower enclosures will be integrated into the production unit of Terno d'Isola
(BG) starting from the month of September. The commercial and distribution structure will be
strengthened and supported thanks to the physical opening of a prestigious exhibition space in Via
Solferino 18 in Milan. The investments foreseen for the development of products are also
significant and only few will be part of the exhibition at the Salone del Bagno 2018 stand.
